Low Back Pain and Spinal Manipulation

Chiropractic is an alternative medicine that is mainly concerned with the analysis and treatment of physical disorders of the skeletal system, particularly the spine. Practitioners of chiropractic is often called chiropractic practitioners. This is because chiropractic uses the theories of chiropractic medicine, which is based on the theory that spinal manipulation or movement can cure conditions by affecting the nerves.

The chiropractic physician diagnoses a patient’s spinal problem by studying the structure of the spine, joint position, functioning of the nerves and vertebrae and the patient’s reaction to pressure exerted on the spine. The chiropractic doctor then makes the diagnosis based on the grounds that the problem is caused by one or more subluxations in the spine that are not properly aligned. Subluxations are present when two structures are not positioned properly along the spine which can cause neural pressure or irritation in the soft tissues around the joints or muscles.

The chiropractor checks for the presence of subluxations in the spine before treating the patient. A chiropractor will examine a patient and then ask questions about the medical history. They may also order x-rays of the spine and take the spinal fluid sample. The collected samples are sent to a lab for analysis. Some of the common tests ordered by a chiropractic doctor include the measurement of energy, pressure, muscle tone, temperature and reflex activity of the spinal cord and the joints.

Once a Chiropractic physician has completed his or her investigation, the chiropractor will make the treatment recommendations. Subsequently, the chiropractic physician will give the patient an adjustment. The chiropractic adjustments are performed manually using a series of manipulative movements. The goal of these adjustments is to realign the spine and to reduce inflammation in the soft tissues surrounding the spine and joints.

Although the pain may temporarily become unbearable, most people do not realize that this is a symptom of an underlying condition. Therefore, the chiropractic adjustment may help relieve the pain temporarily but not address the underlying problem. In addition, sometimes after receiving the chiropractic adjustment, the pain will return. This is because the spinal adjustments may not realign the spine completely and will not eliminate the cause of the pain. Therefore, it is important that you return for regular chiropractic adjustments to ensure that your condition is not getting worse.

Chiropractic care is an alternative medicine practice that is often complementary to traditional medicine. Many chiropractors use spinal manipulation to treat low back pain. However, it is important to note that spinal manipulation is not intended to replace a visit to a physician. A chiropractor may use spinal manipulation to provide relief for low back pain, but they are not doctors and should not be treated as such.
